The 6th Annual North Richmond Green Festival and Earth Day Celebration will be held on Saturday, April 23.

The outdoor festival, which celebrates efforts to improve the community’s environment and health, will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the North Richmond Ball field/Park at Fred Jackson Way and Pittsburg Avenue. he fun includes live music, food, pony rides, arts and crafts, vendors, and children’s activities. Eco-aware and healthy living information will be shared by a number of local agencies, businesses and organizations.

Also, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. there will be a separate event where volunteers can help cleanup Wildcat Creek and work on garden projects. Before 9 a.m. Saturday, volunteers can report to Verde Elementary, 2000 Giaramita St. to register and to receive their tools and assignments. The first 30 volunteers will receive free T-shirts and projects end at 11 a.m.

Festival partners include Republic Services, RecycleMore, Love Your Block, Verde Partnership Garden, LOL Educational Community and others.
