No one was injured in the latest shooting on Interstate Highway 80 in the East Bay, which occurred in Richmond on Sunday, the California Highway Patrol reported.

About 8:30 p.m., a minivan pulled up alongside a taxicab and opened fire before fleeing the scene, CHP said.

The taxi’s driver pulled off the highway and stopped at a parking lot, at which point two of its passengers fled the scene on foot.

No arrests have been reported. The incident marks the 17th shooting on East Bay highways since November of last year. A good number have occurred in West County and resulted in homicides.

Anyone with information about the shooting to call their special investigations unit at (510) 622-4609, according to CHP.
