An 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the March 26 killing of Malik Booker, 21, police said.

Temaree Harris (pictured), also a Richmond resident and validated gang member, was taken into custody in Pittsburg on Friday, Richmond police Lt. Felix Tan said.

Booker was fatally shot in the 1700 block of Maine Avenue about 6 p.m. Homicide detectives developed leads while working “through the weekend and week” on the homicide investigation. After naming a suspect, an arrest warrant was issued for Harris, who was located in Pittsburg, Tan said.

Further information about the investigation wasn’t immediately released.

“We are proud of our detectives’ tenacity and focus on finding the person responsible for this heinous crime,” Tan said. “We hope that this arrest brings some closure for Malik Booker’s family.”
