Drivers this morning can expect rolling lane closures on Interstate Highway 80 in Contra Costa County due to repair work, according to the California Department of Transportation.

The work, which will repair potholes in both the eastbound and westbound lanes, will occur from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. between El Cerrito and Crockett.

Multiple lanes of traffic may be closed at a time, but Caltrans says closures are planned in the non-commute direction and outside of the peak commute hours.

  1. This could be done at night when traffic is lightest. They should of at least used their traffic sweeper division which also could be done at night simultaneously. Thanks Caltrans for delaying my 10 minute ride to an hour.
