Jeffrey Parker, a Richmond native and Salesian graduate, has been named to the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Conference first team after leading the league in 3-pointers with Western Washington University.

The junior forward finished the regular season fifth in the league in scoring with 17.7 points per game, including 72 three-pointers in 29 games, according to a report on his team’s website. In 14 games, Parker had 20 or more points, including a 39-point performance at Alaska on Jan. 7 (see video below for highlights from that game). It was the 8th highest point total in WWU history. With 1,333 career points, Parker currently has the 12th most points in school history.

Despite Parker’s feats, he was not in the running for GNAC Player of the Year, as that went unanimously to Western Oregon’s Andy Avgi, who also held the honor last season.

The Vikings (15-14 overall, 9-11 GNAC) finished league play tied for 6th and will be the No. 6 seed when facing No. 3 Alaska Anchorage in the GNAC Tournament on Thursday at noon.
