Chevron is committed to helping Richmond reach its greatest potential by making investments to improve local schools, creating career-building opportunities and jobs for residents and supporting organizations that are working to improve the quality of life in the community we share.

Our social investment strategy centers on creating partnerships with community organizations to maximize impact by providing services directly to those in need. Our support is focused on four core areas: fostering economic growth, expanding access to quality education, supporting programs for at-risk youth and promoting civic pride though community sponsorships.

In 2015, we provided $6,915,190 to more than 75 nonprofits in Richmond and West Contra Costa County. Our employees and retirees also gave $533,318 to area nonprofits including matching donations from Chevron. Check out our 2015 Community Giving Report to see the full list of organizations that we supported last year.

The investments we made in 2015, are part of the nearly $25 million we have invested with community partners in Richmond and West County over the past four years. This support has made a positive impact in the lives of thousands of local residents from every neighborhood in this community.

We are proud of the community partners we supported in 2015, and look forward to continuing to work with the many organizations that are making a difference in Richmond.

  1. I recently attended a council meeting for education and it was suggested that Chevron might be investing in locals schools, which would eliminate residents bussing their kids to other city schools and the point would be to prove that test scores in Richmond would be higher than others will all the resourcing and backing Chevron is providing for the people. They talked about all of he tax credits the company could receive while making Richmond schools great. Is this the plan?
