In collaboration with the school district, the Richmond Art Center will present the annual West Contra Costa Unified School District Art Show in its Community Gallery from March 19 through May 22.

The 51st annual partnership between the Richmond Art Center and school district includes more than 300 works from middle and high schools, the Art Center said in a statement Wednesday.

A special, free reception honoring students and art teachers will be held Thursday, April 14 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Art Center, 2540 Barrett Ave. It is open to the public. Numerous awards will be given out by the Richmond Art Center, the El Sobrante Art Guild, and other community members for the students’ artistic talent and originality, according to the Art Center.

The WCCUSD exhibition will coincide with the Art Center’s Spring exhibition, The Human Spirit: Contemporary Figuration as an Expression of Humanism.
