Three men were injured in a shooting in the 300 block of Maine Street Friday night, police said.

Police responded to the area about 6:30 p.m. after the ShotSpotter gun detection system registered 17 shots, Richmond police Lt. Andre Hill said.

Arriving officers arrived learned that the three injured men had already been driven to a local hospital by an unknown person.

“The preliminary investigation suggests that at 6:33 p.m. a suspect drove westbound on Maine Ave. and began shooting at the three victims as they stood outside,” Hill said. “The suspect then fled the area northbound on South 3rd Street and out of the area.”

The suspect vehicle was described as a black Camaro.

Two of the victims were listed in serious but stable condition Friday night, while the third victim was in good condition, Hill said.
