The innovative folks at Praise Fellowship Bible Church at 5221 Central Ave. in Richmond are going to lengths in order to help out 20 victims of abuse — even producing a short film in order to raise funds for the effort.

As is explained in the video, PFBC plans to shower love and attention on 20 women who have been victims of abuse.

“We’ve selected 20 women and we’re going to bring them in our sanctuary and just cater to them, provide dresses, jewelry, desserts, speakers, praise dancers etc.”

The first-ever event, called Diamonds in the Rough, costs $30 for each of the women who will be served, and the church hopes some of that cost will be raised through donations. Those interested in donating to the effort can email Vanessa Calloway at vcalloway@pfbc1.net.
