A Richmond man was killed when his motorcycle collided with a commercial dump truck on Cutting Boulevard at S. 13th Street Friday morning, police said.

Police responded to the intersection at 8:12 a.m. on a report of the collision. When they arrived, medical personnel were performing lifesaving measures on motorcyclist Aaron Randle, 28, but Randle was pronounced dead at the scene, police Lt. Andre Hill said.

A preliminary investigation revealed that Randle was traveling eastbound on Cutting Boulevard from Harbour Way before colliding with the commercial dump truck, which had been attempting to make a left westbound turn onto Cutting from S. 13th Street. The collision knocked Randle off his motorcycle, Hill said.

The driver of the dump truck remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. No further information was immediately available.
