Richmond families looking for a fun activity to do together should consider the free Family Chess Night series at the Richmond Recreation Department, 3230 Macdonald Ave.

The first Family Chess Night will take place this Friday, Feb. 12, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., and then every other Friday through May during the same hours.

The event, co-sponsored by the West Coast Chess Alliance and the Richmond Recreation Department, is mentally stimulating, fun and great for beginners, says TC Ball of the West Coast Chess Alliance.

See the flyer below for more information.
