Richmond and North Richmond homeowners can now qualify for a free home solar system, funded by the City of Richmond and State of California, according to the city.

To qualify, residents must own and live in their home and earn at or below the 2015 Maximum household income, depending on household size, City Manager Bill Lindsay’s newsletter states. See the charts below to see if you qualify.

On March 3, the city will be hosting a sign-up event from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the multipurpose room at 440 Civic Center Plaza in Richmond. Residents are asked to bring copies of their latest tax return (two pages) for each member of the household, one PG&E bill (all pages) and either a mortgage statements, insurance statement, property tax bill or copy of deed.

Grid Alternatives, Richmond’s nonprofit solar technology partner, is working in partnership with the city to install the solar systems.

Please RSVP for the event at www.gridalternatives.org/richmond or call 510-621-1541.
