No one was injured following a shooting in the Hilltop Mall parking lot in Richmond Thursday afternoon, police said.

The shooting occurred following an argument between two groups of people that began inside the Shiekh Shoes store in the mall. Police responded to reports of the shooting at 12:28 p.m., police Lt. Andre Hill said.

The argument spilled out into the parking lot, and at one point both groups began going their separate ways. But then two suspects in one of the groups fired six shots at the other group, striking two vehicles with a bullet apiece, Hill said.

Both groups fled prior to the arrival of officers and the suspects remain at large.

Following the incident, California Highway Patrol temporarily closed Interstate 80 ramps leading to Hilltop Drive. The school across the street from the mall was placed on lockdown during the incident, Hill said.

The suspects are described as black men in their early 20s with thin builds, one with short-cropped hair and one wearing a Golden State Warriors sweatshirt.
