The Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center, which provides expert, low-cost guidance along with training to local entrepreneurs, is inviting the community to a free workshop in Oakland where they can learn about a zero-percent interest loan for small business owners.

Kiva Zip is offering zero-percent interest micro-loans of up to $10,000. The loans are raised via online crowdfunding from donors around the world. Kiva Zip helps small business owners set up a crowd-funding campaign.

The workshop regarding this loan opportunity is set to take place this Thursday  from 12:45 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Oakland City Hall, 1 Frank H. Ogawa Plaza.

The nonprofit is providing this workshop in order to support entrepreneurs who are struggling to access financing through banks and other traditional financial organizations.

“Over the course of this workshop you will learn about how to be successful on your crowdfunding platform and Kiva Zip’s impact, connecting over 400 local entrepreneurs with capital,” according to Kiva Zip.

Anyone who is over 18 and serious about getting financing for their business is welcome to attend. Attendees should bring a computer, high quality digital photo showing you and something about your business, business proof or references and a PayPal account or a computer to help set up your PayPal account.
