Two victims of separate shootings in Richmond on Saturday are in critical condition, Richmond police Lt. Andre Hill said.

The first shooting occurred just before 2:50 p.m., when California Highway Patrol officers responded to a report of a collision on westbound Interstate Highway 580 near Regatta Boulevard, Hill said. There, CHP found a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital where he remains in critical condition.

No suspects have been identified in that incident, Hill said.

At 6:10 p.m. officers responded to a report of a another shooting and vehicle collision in the 2200 block of Cutting Boulevard. They found a 52-year-old Berkeley woman at the scene who had been struck by gunfire as she was driving, causing her vehicle to collide with another vehicle, Hill said.

The woman was taken to a hospital, where she remains in critical condition. Witnesses reported seeing a suspect run south on S. 22nd Street following the shooting, but no suspects are in custody.

Anyone with information about the incidents are asked to contact Detective Eric Haupt at (510) 620 65-41 or Detective Florencio Rivera at (510) 621-1755.
