On Thursday, Richmond police shared images taken from an Iron Triangle home where an officer searching a toy bin allegedly found a .40 caliber Glock pistol with an extended magazine — and it was loaded with nearly 30 bullets.

The incident occurred about 8:45 a.m. on Jan. 6 in the unit block of 6th Street, where police conducted a compliance check at a parolee’s home.

toybin1.1-22During the search, a police detective looked inside a bin full of toys and found the weapon.

“The suspect with prior felony firearms convictions was immediately arrested by the detectives,” Lt. Felix Tan said. “The department is relieved that nobody, especially children, was injured from this event involving a loaded gun.”

The suspect’s identity wasn’t immediately available.
