A 45-year-old Richmond man was fatally shot while inside his car in North Oakland Wednesday night, according to the Bay Area News Group, citing an Oakland police sergeant’s report.

The man’s identity was not immediately being released, the news organization reported. Check back for updates.

Police believe the man was in Oakland visiting his friend. He was found shot in his car in the 800 block of 56th Street about 11:24 p.m. He was then transported to the hospital, where he died about 30 minutes later, police said.

Police have not made any arrests in connection with the homicide, nor has a motive been identified.
