A New York teenager pleaded guilty Tuesday to charges connected to a DUI crash in his hometown that killed a Richmond man and injured his wife and young daughter, according to several news reports.

Deepak Kumar, 19, pleaded guilty to the Aug. 19, 2014 crash in New Hyde Park in Long Island, NY, that took the life of 55-year-old Sir Pierre Antoine of Richmond, the New Hyde Park Patch stated.

Kumar had been drinking and smoking marijuana before he got behind the wheel of a 2003 Toyota Camry, ran a stop sign while speeding and struck the 2012 Ford Fusion that contained Antoine and his family. Antoine was killed while his wife was found unconscious. His daughter suffered a fractured leg.

At the time of the crash, the family had been visiting relatives and had been returning to a family’s member’s house from the hospital, officials said.
