The Richmond Plunge has been closed following a flooding incident, and no official time frame has been given for its reopening.
The flooding was noticed Friday and the Plunge has been closed since, a city official told us Monday. Most scheduled programs have been moved to the newly renovated Richmond Swim Center at 4300 Cutting Blvd. while repairs are underway at the Plunge.
Apparently a basement pump clogged up, causing a backup and flooding that damaged areas including the lady’s locker room and the aquatic center’s offices. Although no official time for the Plunge’s reopening was given, some estimated that repairs could take a week to complete, the city official said.
