The Richmond Police Department will conduct a DUI sobriety checkpoint on Friday night at the intersection of Cutting Boulevard and S. 41st Street.

The checkpoint will run from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m., police said in a statement.

The DUI checkpoint is funded through an AVOID grant secured by the Contra Costa County Sherriff’s Office. Police officers will be joined at the checkpoint by volunteers from the Bay Area chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

Police held a DUI checkpoint at the same intersection on Dec. 18.
