Kamala Harris is set to attend a Richmond fundraiser for her bid for U.S. Senate this Sunday hosted by local politicians and community leaders.

One of the fundraiser’s hosts, local leader Uche Uwahemu, alerted us to this event, which will take place from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Bubbaaloo Café, 1402 Marina Way South. Another host, Assemblymember Tony Thurmond, has posted event details on Facebook, where he called Harris his friend, mentor and an “amazing public servant.”

Thurmond’s invite lists other notable hosts including the Richmond/Contra Costa Chapter of Black Women Organized for Political Action, Contra Costa Supervisor John Gioia, Assemblymembers Phil Ting and Rob Bonta and Richmond Councilmember Jael Myrick.

The community is welcome to attend. To RSVP, contact D’Seante Parks at or visit
