We don’t regret painting all malls with a broad brush when we say that the Richmond Art Center will offer a far less stressful holiday shopping experience this Saturday.

On Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the art center at 2540 Barrett Ave. is holding its Annual Holiday Arts Festival, where the community can check out great local art and possibly purchase works as gifts.

“Peruse a marketplace of local arts and crafts vendors, our famous ceramics sale featuring hundreds of plates, mugs and objects made by the Art Center’s ceramic enthusiasts, and so much more,” according to the Art Center.

Food and wine, art-making activities for kids and musical entertainment are included.

Following the free daytime event, a Holiday Arts Festival Live Auction will follow from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. that costs $25 for members of the art center and $35 for nonmembers. The live auction event includes live music, wine, hors d’oeurves and the chance to bid on works of art by internationally known Bay Area artists. Proceeds from the auction benefit the Richmond Art Center.  Purchase your tickets online here.
