Fifteen people were displaced by a two-alarm fire in an apartment building in El Sobrante early Tuesday, according to the Contra Costa Fire Protection District.

One neighbor helped lead a mother and her two children from the blaze, which began about 3:30 a.m. after a stove top was left on in an apartment inside the 6-unit building at 280 Joan Vista St., Fire Marshal Robert Marshall told news outlets. No one was injured.

Responding firefighters found heavy fire coming from the apartment. The blaze spread into at least two other units. The fire was under control within 30 minutes, Marshall said.
