A man was killed and a woman injured in a shooting on Interstate Highway 80 Tuesday night, the second shooting on the West County stretch of highway this month.

The California Highway Patrol said it responded about 11 p.m. to reports of a shooting in the eastbound lanes near Pinole Valley Road and found two victims in an Audi suffering from gunshot wounds.

After being transported to the hospital, the male victim died from his injuries.

The shooting closed all eastbound lanes for the investigation. CHP believes the incident was not random.

The identities of the victims were not immediately available.

It was the second such incident this month on I-80 in West County. On Nov. 2, two westbound lanes on the highway near San Pablo Dam Road were temporarily closed after a man was shot and critically injured while driving, authorities said.

No arrests have been made in either case, and the CHP is asking witnesses or anyone with information about the homicide to call CHP at 1-800-TELL-CHP or (510) 450-3821.
