An early-morning fire caused damage at a grocery store on 23rd Street in Richmond Monday, but no injuries were reported, a fire official said.

The two-alarm blaze was reported at 1:55 a.m. at the Mi Tierra Super Mercardo at 516 23rd St., between Barrett and Roosevelt avenues, Deputy fire Chief Emon Usher told Bay City News.

The fire was brought under control by 3:55 a.m., Usher said.

It is believed the fire began on the second floor. The first floor sustained water damage,  Usher said.

The fire’s cause remains under investigation.
