On Monday, the Richmond Police Department shared images from a gun bust back on Nov. 13 that resulted from a traffic stop.
The incident occurred in the 100 block of 23rd Street, when a 30-year-old driver from Richmond committed a minor traffic violation and was pulled over by a crime scene investigator, Richmond police Lt. Felix Tan said Tuesday.
When the cop learned the driver had a suspended license, he was asked to step out of the car. The officer then spotted the gun pictured under the driver’s seat. The gun was a loaded 9 mm Smith & Wesson semi auto pistol, Tan said.
“We are happy that the driver complied with the officer’s instructions, and nobody was hurt during this potential volatile situation,” police said on the department’s Facebook page.
