Early last month, we told you about the Kennedy High junior varsity football team’s dominating start this season.
The success has continued, and in the final game against John Swett High on Friday the team will be looking to cap its magical run with a perfect season.
The team is inviting the community to come watch the game, which kicks off at 4:30 p.m. at Kennedy High, 4300 Cutting Blvd.
The community has been raving about the high quality of players and football skills on this JV team, which has outscored opponents 343-2 in nine games.
The lone 2 points scored against the Eagles occurred as the result of a safety during the game against Berean Christian. The safety, however, occurred moments after a 95-yard touchdown run by the Eagles was called back for a penalty.
The dominance has not affected the players’ character, according to coaches, parents and fans.
“I chant everyday after practice, ‘We All We Got,’ and they respond by saying ‘We All We Need,’ Coach Greg Marshall said.
And the “we” in those sentences includes the community, Marshall said.
“We need our fans and community to come support our Eagles this Friday,” the coach said. “I would love to have the community in our corner. Don’t miss a chance to see history be made.”
