A new artisan coffee, tea and ice cream shop just opened in Point Richmond and is already receiving rave views in the community.

“It’s excellent; really fantastic!” a couple sipping from their mugs Wednesday said about their coffees.

Several other customers agreed. The shop at 109 Park Pl. had its “soft opening” Thursday. Hours will be limited at the onset to 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays through Fridays while staff is trained and other kinks of the new business are ironed out, according to owner Cassandra Cushing. The new space is spacious, cozy and inviting for students, remote workers and meetings.

The shop will eventually serve food, but during the soft-opening it is sticking to coffee from San Francisco-based Wrecking Ball Coffee Roasters, ice cream from East Bay-based Tara’s Organic Ice Cream, and pastries from Emeryville’s Bacano Bakery.

As we’ve written in the past, Cushing’s vision for the large space includes a community gathering place that features regular storytelling events, local music, local art gracing the walls, and more.

Pay the business a visit, then let us know what you think.
