The always highly-anticipated, family-friendly Picnic in the Point is coming back this year with a Grammy-nominated musical group.

Trout Fishing in America, a two-person band that has received four Grammy Award nominations in the Best Musical Album for Children category along with three National Indie Awards and numerous Parents Choice awards, will perform at the 6th annual Point Richmond event on Oct. 17.

Dana Louise & The Glorious Birds will also perform in an event that includes tons of activities and games for kids, food, drinks, and much more.

The event runs from noon to 5 p.m. at Judge G. Carroll at W. Cutting Boulevard and S. Gerrard Boulevard.

Admission is free. However, the picnic is a fundraiser, with sales of food and drink tickets benefiting local nonprofits. Those food and drink tickets are available for purchase up through Oct. 16 at Up & Under (2 West Richmond Ave.) and Smith Office Solutions (210 Washington Ave.).
