A driver whose car crashed into a home in unincorporated San Pablo early Friday had been shot several times, according to Contra Costa County sheriff’s deputies.

Deputies responded to the 1200 block of Karen Road on a report of a shooting at about 4:44 a.m. They found the crashed vehicle and its driver, described only as a male, slumped down in the driver’s seat and unconscious, according to sheriff’s officials.

He was transported to a hospital having suffered several gunshot wounds. Further details about the case weren’t immediately available.
