The Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff Coroner’s Division seeks the public’s help in trying to locate next of kin for a man who was found deceased in Richmond last month.

The body of Michael Reed Smith, 64, was found in an advanced stage of decomposition on the shoulder of the southbound Highway 80 on-ramp from Central Avenue at 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 8.

Information regarding the cause of Smith’s death wasn’t immediately available.

The coroner’s office is hoping a member of the public will be able to alert any of Smith’s relatives. Anyone with any information on this case is asked to contact the Coroners Division at (925) 313-2850.
