The driver of a car that was apparently racing another car on Interstate 80 in San Pablo early Sunday died after crashing into an embankment, according to Bay City News.

The driver has been identified as Aiofaiva Sio, 50, of Vallejo.

The California Highway Patrol reported receiving word of the crash at 4:12 a.m. Sio was found pinned inside the vehicle in the westbound lanes just west of the San Pablo Dam Road off-ramp, CHP told Bay City News.

She was extracted and taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Investigators believe Sio lost control and skidded across all westbound lanes while racing another unknown vehicle.
