Participants in Saturday’s highly-anticipated 29th Annual GRIP Harmony Walk/5K Run, which this year falls on Halloween Day, are in for a real treat.
On Saturday morning, droves of costumed walkers and runners will set off from Nichol Park for what promises to be one of the most colorful GRIP Harmony events yet. And right after the event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the park will host a large festival featuring children activities, food trucks, music, performances and dozens of exhibitors who will reportedly be handing out treats to Trick-or-Treaters.
Check-in registration for the walk/run opens at 7:30 a.m., with the run launching at 8:50 a.m. and walkers at 9 a.m.
Those participating in the run/walk have been fundraising to benefit Contra Costa County’s homeless population. The event brings hundreds of friends, families, local businesses, congregations and corporate and media partners together with the goal of raising money for those in need, has proven over the years to have a dramatic impact on improving the lives of local families and individuals.
