Assemblyman Tony Thurmond, D-Richmond, is holding an Education Town Hall in Richmond on Nov. 5 where he intends to use concerns of community members to craft legislation.
The town hall is set to take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lovonya DeJean Middle School, 3400 Macdonald Ave.
Thurmond hopes to hear the “leading issues affecting student academic achievement.”
“The Assemblymember wants to use the information from the Town Hall to introduce legislation to address those concerns, and improve the quality of education for every child,” according to a statement from his office.
All members of the community are invited to the discussion, which will include a panel that features representatives of the West Contra Costa Unified School District, Berkeley Unified School District and Oakland Unified School District.
Contact Thurmond’s district office at (510) 286-1400 for questions.
