We’ve received several reports about a shooting in North Richmond on Wednesday night, but have thus far garnered as much information about the incident from citizens as we have from authorities.

A community member told us the shooting occurred at about 8 p.m. or 9 p.m. in the area of Chelsea Avenue and 5th Street.

A female victim had been shot in the leg, Richmond police Capt. Bisa French stated in an email to community member Owen Martin, adding the incident falls under the jurisdiction of the Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff.

Multiple calls to the sheriff’s office on Thursday were either not returned or unsuccessful in terms of confirming details about the incident.

Check back for updates.

  1. Anyone update with what happened with this??
