The Rumrill Sports Park in San Pablo will have a grand opening today at 3:30 p.m., according to the city.

The new sports park at 1509 Rumrill Blvd. features three lighted youth fields available for rent and a smaller practice field, the city said. It also contains a picnic/bbq area, play area, restrooms, an office and on-site parking.

The park was built upon a former Burlington Northern & Santa Fe Railroad Corporation yard that was sold to the city. A series of community outreach meetings led to the park’s creation.
