The Contra Costa Child Care Council is inviting the community to a ribbon-cutting and open house on Sept. 17 for its new Richmond offices.

For 39 years, the nonprofit has been providing child care referrals and programs to West County families from its offices at 3065 Richmond Parkway in Hilltop.

But now, the Child Care Council says it has relocated to an upgraded space at 3220 Blume Dr., about a few-minute drive from its former location.

“The new office has a layout design that works better for our staff so that they can work with clients more comfortably and privately,” said Susan Shiu, the nonprofit’s director of development and communications. The space in this new office is a better fit for us. We have use of a conference room in the building and there is ample parking. We also appreciate having other organizations and companies in the building with us.”

To commemorate the move and to make residents aware of the new location, the Child Care Council is holding an open house from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 17. A ribbon-cutting and presentation is scheduled to occur at 5:30 p.m., and the event includes tours and art activities for kids (see the flyer below for more information).

The Child Care Council provides a number of key services from its sites in Richmond, Concord and Antioch, including child care referrals, parent education and resources, child care provider training and financial assistance for low-income working families needing child care.
