Two teenage boys who attend Kennedy High School were being held for questioning Friday in connection with the alleged rape of a 14-year-old schoolmate at Miller/Knox Regional Park, according to the Contra Costa Times.
Police responded to a report that a girl was sexually assaulted and found partially clothed near the park’s shoreline at about 12:50 p.m. Friday, the newspaper reported.
Police found the teenage boys and girl at the scene. The girl was transported to a hospital, where an examination found evidence she was sexually assaulted, the Times reported.
The boys, ages 17 and 14, were taken to the park district’s police headquarters in Castro Valley for questioning. Citing a report from a park district spokesperson, the 17-year-old was likely to be booked Friday, the Times reported.
The teens had taken a bus from Kennedy High to the regional park, it added.
