After proclaiming that “nothing goes better with art than music,” the NIAD Art Center in Richmond announced Thursday it will host live music events for art aficionados on Saturday afternoons this fall.
The first of six weekly “Sights + Sounds” live music series events takes place from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 10 at the NIAD Art Center at 551 23rd St. The band Crying Time (see video below), which recalls the golden eras of country music, is set to perform in the center’s sunny, gated courtyard. Admission is $10 and for all ages, and food and drink will be for sale. Attendees are encouraged to check out the NIAD Center’s impressive artwork before the show.
The NIAD (Nurturing Independence through Artistic Development) center galleries, which are famous for providing a space for the great works of disabled artists to thrive, open at noon on Saturdays. Admission to galleries is free. It also opens on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
