Christine Pelosi will speak on the importance of the Constitution, grassroots organizing and public policy at Contra Costa College on Thursday.
Pelosi’s presentation will take place from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. in LA 100 on the campus, located at 2600 Mission Bell Dr. in San Pablo. Starting at 11 a.m., the school will also hold programs and activities to commemorate the Constitution at its Student Services Center Plaza.
Pelosi is the highly accomplished daughter of U.S. House of Representatives Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, having earned degrees from U.C. Hastings College of the Law and Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service. She has served as a prosecutor in San Francisco, a special counsel in the Clinton-Gore administration, and a chief of staff on Capitol Hill, according to literature provided by the school.
She is also former executive director of the California Democratic Party and currently chairs the party’s Women’s Caucus. She led the state’s Democratic Party Platform Committee for 13 years, has been elected five times to the Democratic National Committee, where she co-founded the DNC Veterans and Military Families Council, and serves on the Stakeholder Board of the Young Democrats of America.
