Cargo trailer stolen in Richmond contained glass blown artworks

Richmond police are seeking help from the public after a cargo trailer containing several pieces of glass blown artworks was stolen in the city last week.

The cargo trailer was stolen from the 3800 block of Roosevelt Ave. on Sept. 4, police said. The trailer contained pieces of handmade, glass blown art that police described as very valuable and holding a special place with the artist, identified as Alexis Silk. More about Silk and her work can be seen at www.alexissilk.com.

“The art pieces are unique, in that they are mostly of transparent human figures,” RPD stated in a Facebook post. “The pieces are equivalent to the size of a normal human torso, so they would be very obvious if seen.”

RPD detectives are asking residents to be vigilant and on the look out for the artwork.

If you see the art pieces or have any information regarding the theft, call RPD Detective J. Clark at (510) 965-4970 or email him at Jclark@richmondpd.net.
