The theft was reported at 8:17 a.m. in the parking lot near the Mudpuppies dog grooming business at 1 Isabel St., according to park officials. When Bennett returned from her jog, she found a rear window of her unmarked police car smashed, police said.
The department-issued badge, loaded gun and laptop were stolen from the car, along with a diamond ring, iPad, cellphone and her police identification, according to East Bay Regional Park police.
