An unlicensed parolee was arrested after leading the California Highway Patrol on a pursuit through Richmond Wednesday, authorities said.

Anthony Doss, 21, of Richmond, had been reportedly speeding in a Honda in North Richmond at 12:48 p.m., but refused to stop when CHP officers located his vehicle and attempted to pull him over, CHP said.

The pursuit, which included assistance from a helicopter and fixed wing plane, continued in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 580, where Doss looped around at the Buchanan Street exit in Albany and returned eastbound on 580, according to CHP, which live-tweeted parts of the chase.

He continued up 23rd Street and Market Avenue, then headed onto Rumrill Boulevard, CHP said.

The pursuit ended at about 1:30 p.m., when Doss finally gave up near 6th Street and Virginia Avenue. He was booked on suspicion of two felonies, a misdemeanor and a parole violation following the pursuit, CHP said.
