With additional warehouse and distribution companies moving into Richmond, it is becoming increasingly important to ensure West County residents are job ready.

Local job seekers are encouraged to attend open enrollment and fall recruitment in August for a nine-week career training program in the forklift logistics operations and warehouse industry. Those interested must attend one of three enrollment sessions — on Aug. 25, Aug. 27 and Aug. 31. Each session takes place from 10 a.m. to noon at RichmondBUILD at 500 23rd St.

The job training runs from Sept. 21 to Nov. 20, with recruits training from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

See the flyer below for additional information.

More than 150 West Contra Costa residents have jobs because of this job training program, said Chuck Carpenter, who works in recruiting and job placement for the Contra Costa College Workforce and Economic Development.
