Richmond police are seeking the public’s help in trying to solve a broad-daylight shooting last month near Nevin Park in Richmond.

The shooting, which did not injure anyone, occurred in the 400 block of 5th Street June 27 at 4:45 p.m., while several small children were playing outside in their front yards, police said.

“We find this to be extremely disturbing,” police said in a Facebook post.

Authorities have released images from surveillance footage from a local convenience store. Police believe the person captured in the images was a witness to the shooting and they want to interview him.

“If you think you know who he is, please contact RPD Detective Jason Wentz at (510) 621-1259 or email him at Jwentz@richmondpd.net,” police said.
