Richmond Public Library town hall Wednesday to discuss solutions to gentrification

New service lets residents earn high school diplomas at Richmond Public Library

The community is invited to a town hall meeting at Richmond Public Library on Wednesday to discuss the topic of gentrification and its impact on blacks and Latinos, according to former mayoral hopeful and community advocate Uche Uwahemu.

The conversation will occur from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the main library at 325 Civic Center Plaza.

“Please join us for this important conversation,” Uwahemu said. “Many families are being displaced in Richmond and other communities in the Bay Area. Do we have solutions or is it a lost cause?”

The panel of speakers will include elected officials, community leaders and business leaders. The event is sponsored and hosted by the Black Women Organized for Political Action, Latina Center, Cal Bay Consulting Group LLC and The Post News Group.

Refreshments will be served.
