On Aug. 19, Chevron USA is set to host a workshop for local small businesses and contractors seeking potential contracting opportunities at the Richmond Refinery.
Businesses throughout Contra Costa County — especially those in Richmond, Point Richmond, El Cerrito, El Sobrante and Pinole — are invited to attend the workshop from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Richmond Technology Center at 100 Chevron Way in Richmond.
Chevron executives and supply chain experts will discuss key elements about working with the company on possible future projects, including how to build capacity to meet requirements.
Companies with experience working on capital projects and routine and turnaround maintenance in the following areas are encouraged to attend: civil (structural/foundations), electrical/instrumentation, general contracting, HVAC, insulation, mechanical, painting, pile driving, piping, pluming, refractory, contracting, scaffolding, structural, tank maintenance and build.
Those wishing to attend must pre-register in order to ensure their business qualifies as a potential supplier. Requests can be submitted by email to email@example.com or by a phone call to ARTEMIA Communications, (415) 351-2227.
“Supporting local economic growth in Richmond is an important priority and Chevron continually seeks to increase the services and products purchased from local businesses,” said Kory Judd, general manager of the Richmond Refinery. “Having a diverse network of suppliers is not only good for our business, it will also help grow the local economy and create jobs.”
