Staffers at the House of Blends Barber Shop in Pinole — who can make haircuts look like something you’d hang up at an art gallery — will join other charitable barbers in giving free haircuts Monday at the Richmond-based Bay Area Rescue Mission, the nonprofit providing a wide range of services for the homeless.

The barber session starts at noon at the Rescue Mission, located at 2114 Macdonald Ave., according to community advocate Rodney Alamo Brown.

Boo Billions of House of Blends (pictured below) will bring along three staffers. Additionally, Richmond residents Iluvbeingt Woods and Darryl Maurice Moore have also pledged their time to give free cuts, Brown said.

“This is what real Richmond is all about,” Brown said, adding the event is not for the applause but for the cause.
