Travis David Diaz, 27, the victim of a shooting in the 100 block of 20th Street early Monday, was taken off life support Tuesday afternoon, police said.

Homicide detectives are searching for the killer who shot Diaz in the head about 1:15 a.m.

Diaz was found by police following a Shotspotter activation and taken to Highland Hospital in Oakland, where he succumbed to his injuries, police Sgt. Nicole Abetkov said.

Police believe the incident could be gang-related, although no further information was released about the investigation.
