A 27-year-old man was in grave condition Sunday after being shot in the 100 block of 20th Street in Richmond, police said.

The victim was found suffering from a bullet wound to the head after police responded to a ShotSpotter activation about 1:15 a.m., Richmond police Sgt. Nicole Abetkov said.

He was transported to Highland Hospital, but was not expected to survive the injuries, Abetkov said.

Police suspect the incident is gang-related.
